Position Summary
The Front Desk position serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily clinic operations. This individual must demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
- Check patients in and out efficiently
- Manage and distribute incoming/outgoing faxes
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records
- Collect copays and balances as needed
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure clinic flow stays on schedule
- Provide excellent customer service to all patients and visitors
Qualifications
- Previous medical front desk or healthcare experience preferred
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
- Familiarity with EMR systems preferred
- Knowledge of insurance verification and basic billing processes is a plus
